What is PBIS?
PBIS or Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports program is a district-wide initiative to teach all students behavioral expectations in a positive way. Students are introduced to expectations in areas of the school. Together with their class, students will be taught positive behaviors expectations by teachers, administrators, counselor, and support staff.
*PBIS means students will know exactly what is expected of them. Students who take responsibility to behave positively will be recognized and rewarded in a variety of ways; for example, earning “Knight’s Notes” to cash in for prizes. Students will also know the consequences that will result when they chose NOT to meet the school-wide expectations.
